Alliance of Prestigious Schools Build up Virtual Teaching and Research Section——Prosthetics Department, School of Stomatology, Lan Zhou University Was Selected in the First Batch of Virtual Teaching and Research Pilot Sections by the Ministry of Education

Recently, the General Office of the Ministry of Education has issued “An Announcement of the First Batch of Pilot Units to Build up Virtual Teaching and Research Section”. In order to implement the relevant deployment of the "the 14th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development" education development plan and accelerate the construction of the virtual teaching and research section, the Ministry of Education has determined the first batch of 439 pilot unites for the construction of virtual teaching and research section in accordance with relevant work procedures, recommended by various universities and the Teaching Steering Committee of Higher Education Institutions and comprehensively reviewed by experts.

 

The "Virtual Teaching and Research Section of Prosthodontics Course" led by Professor Zhou Yongsheng, the School of Stomatology, Peking University, and "Virtual Teaching and Research Section of Stomatology Talent Training Mode Reform" led by Professor Ye Ling of School of Stomatology, Sichuan University, were approved as the first batch of pilot unites by the Ministry of Education. The Department of Stomatology and Prosthodontics, Lan Zhou University, as the first group of supporting members, participated in the above two projects respectively.

 

 

 

     

In recent years, the Prosthodontics Teaching and Research Section, School of Stomatology, Lanzhou University have strengthened their ties with other first-class schools of stomatology, actively participated in the construction of national high-level teaching research and practice teams, and set up a teaching development community and quality-orientated culture through the construction of the virtual teaching and research section platform of the Ministry of Education , comprehensively improve the teaching ability of the teachers. By adhering to the principles of co-construction and sharing, curriculum ideological and political integration and innovation leading, we have initially built a team of teachers with reasonable structure and vigorous spirit, which has laid a solid foundation for the construction of "double ten thousand" first-class discipline in our college.

 

Based on the virtual teaching and research platform and the collective strength of the section, our prosthodontics teaching and research section will apply cutting-edge new technologies and new concepts to the teaching of stomatology and prosthodontics in our hospital, make full use of information technology to optimize the teaching and research mode of "online + offline" combination. And it will help speeding up the rapid development of teaching innovation, discipline construction, talent training, scientific and educational exchanges and cooperation, and interdisciplinary and integration of stomatology and prosthodontics in the western region.

 

On March 1st, a training meeting was held in Beijing for the pilot construction of virtual teaching and research section.  Zhang Kailiang, director of the Department of Restoration teaching and Research of our hospital, attended the meeting online. Fan Hailin, deputy director of the Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education, introduced the overall arrangement of the pilot construction of virtual teaching and Research section. The expert group introduced the method of use the information platform of the virtual teaching and research section, and made arrangements for quality monitoring and other work. At the end of the meeting, the head of the teaching and research section of each university exchanged experience for the construction of the virtual laboratory. This meeting put forward requirements for the pilot construction of virtual teaching and research section of each college, and provided guidance programs. Exchange of peer experience allowed our college to learn advanced experience and further point out the direction for the construction of the virtual teaching and research section of our hospital.
